The volunteers, who are Richmond-based employees of Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector, assisted with the adult bowling championships at AMF Hanover Lanes Bowling Alley. During the games, Northrop Grumman employees provided assistance to the athletes, ensured accurate scoring and cheered on the participants. Additionally, company volunteers presented medals to the athletes during the awards ceremony and served them lunch at the event's conclusion. This is the second consecutive year that Northrop Grumman volunteered at the adult bowling championships for the summer games.

"I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics," said Kate Hypes, Northrop Grumman service delivery support lead. "It was inspiring to work with the athletes and to see the bravery, determination and perseverance they demonstrate while facing challenges many of us could never imagine."
