SeaChange to Deliver Multi-Screen Monetization Insights for Light Reading Conference on June 21

Tuesday, June 19, 2012 1:45 PM

SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading global multi-screen video software innovator, will deliver deployment insights and lessons learned for Light Reading’s Managing and Monetizing Over the Top (OTT) Video conference on June 21 in Cambridge, Mass. This event will focus on ideas for video service providers to meet the challenges of OTT and will explore the enabling technologies and emerging business models.

SeaChange’s General Manager, Advertising, Aseem Bakshi will participate on the breakfast roundtable “Targeting Ads in the Multi-Screen World” from 7:30 a.m. – 8:40 a.m. With service and content providers both seeking ways to monetize their multi-screen video offerings, advertising is emerging as a critical means of generating more revenue from the additional screens. As a result, equipment and software vendors are developing new, more advanced ways for providers to insert ads into video programming no matter where that programming may run. This special pre-conference workshop will examine the different ad insertion techniques, compare their pros and cons, and see which ones providers are deploying or planning to deploy.

SeaChange’s Chief Technology Officer Steven Davi will participate on the panel “Video Preparation Trends: ABR & More” from 2:35 p.m. – 3:35 p.m. Service providers have long relied on MPEG-2 transport and UDP streaming to deliver video-on-demand programming. Now, as they add Internet video services and pump video to other devices, service providers are looking at Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) streaming technology common in the Web video world. This session will address ABR's possibilities and challenges and examine alternative and hybrid options for transcoding video for multiple screens.
