Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH announced today that it plans to open its
doors in Syracuse’s Carousel Center on Thursday, June 21. The 24,962
square foot space will be situated in the Shopping Center’s new
expansion called Destiny USA, which is the largest LEED® Certified
commercial retail project in the country. The Carousel Center is located
in the geographical center of New York State, and has a collection of
nearly 200 retail and outlet stores, a movie theatre, five restaurants,
a food court, a race track and bowling center, and indoor carousel.

The new store will feature Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH’s innovative
‘luxury-in-a-loft’ store design, a novel layout that has been well
received and set a new standard in outlet shopping. This design
maximizes efficiency and flexibility, enabling easy changes in the
general layout. The store will be bright, uncluttered, with no hard
aisles and one consistent hard-surface floor throughout. All fixtures
will be on casters, ensuring ease in movement, and all hardware will be
interchangeable between fixtures.
A distinctive assortment of brands will be available at outlet prices in
the new store, including women’s and men’s apparel, fine jewelry, and
children’s collections. Women will find both designer and contemporary
merchandise, with summer’s most sought-after womenswear trends, such as
bold colors and prints, maxi skirts and dresses, and loosely woven
knits. Shoppers can choose from a selection of items by leading women’s
designer brands, including Stella McCartney, St. John, Donna Karan,
Escada, and Michael Kors, as well as Black Label and Threads by Saks
Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH. Men can shop from an assortment of classic
sportswear and contemporary brands, including Hugo Boss, Fred Perry,
Robert Graham, Michael Kors, Affliction, Members Only, Marc by Marc
Jacobs, Vince, and John Varvatos; a variety of menswear denim options,
such as True Religion, 7 for All Mankind, Joe’s Jeans, Levi’s, and
Hudson, and a shoe selection from John Varvatos Star USA, To Boot New
York, and Cole Haan, will also be available. For children, the store
will offer a range of fun pieces for the summer, including bright
colors, prints, and sportswear. The Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH location
will additionally provide customers with luxury Jewelry brands, such as
Roberto Coin, Penny Preville, John Hardy, Judith Ripka, Stephen Webster,
Elizabeth and James, Ippolita, Alexis Bittar, Tara Pears, Saks Fifth
Avenue, and Nava Zahavi, which will include a selection 18 and 14 karat
gold, diamond, precious, semi precious, and pearl options.
In celebration of the store’s grand opening, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH
will be hosting a private event for its loyal customers on Wednesday,
June 20 from 6 to 9, at which BC Restaurant, located in Armory Square,
will be serving a selection of its famed dishes, including caprese
skewers, lobster puffs, risotto balls, asparagus and prosciutto, and
cheese tarts. Attendees will enjoy an exclusive preview of the summer
OFF 5TH assortment and receive a complimentary signature tote with any
purchase. Additionally, 5% of sales throughout the evening will be
donated to Say Yes to Education, a charity dedicated to improving
inner-city graduation rates throughout the nation; its largest chapter
is based locally in Syracuse. Continuing with celebrations through the
weekend, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH shoppers will also receive a
