Stroll CEO Dan Roitman Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year?

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 3:12 PM

Stroll, one of America’s fastest growing e-commerce companies, today announced that Founder and CEO Dan Roitman received the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Retail and Consumer Products Award in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Roitman, who founded Stroll in his dorm room at the University of Maryland, is the driving force behind Stroll’s explosive growth and success as an emerging leader in the e-commerce industry. Since bootstrapping the company’s startup in 2000, Roitman has built an all-star team of 170 professionals who fuel Stroll’s strong and steady growth. Since 2002, the company has had a compounded annual growth rate of over 70%, with revenue growth at 135% in 2011.

“I am thrilled to be able to accept this award on behalf of my team,” said Roitman. “Without the support of a staff that is innovative, data-driven, analytical, and strategy-minded, Stroll would not be where it is today. I’m proud to be a company that is creating jobs, setting a precedent for hyper-growth and making educational products available to the consumers who wish to transform their lives. Being named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young is truly an honor and a testament to our success.”

Now in its 26th year, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 140 cities in more than 50 countries throughout the world. As a Greater Philadelphia region award winner, Roitman is now eligible for consideration for the National Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the National Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in November. The awards are the culminating event of the Ernst & Young Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
