Steven Barber Joins Baker as Vice President and Harrisburg Office Principal

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR), is pleased to announce that Steven L. Barber, P.E., PTOE, has been appointed vice president and office principal of the Harrisburg, Pa., office. In this role, Barber is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the office, as well as future business development and client relationships.

“We welcome Steve to our team in Harrisburg,” said Jeff Campbell, senior vice president and Central Region Transportation manager. “His broad experience in several of Baker’s key markets will help to develop new business as well as maintain the high quality of service that our clients expect.”

Prior to joining Baker, Barber worked as a regional vice president for a consulting firm providing services throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. He previously served as the operations director for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and as an engineer with the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute at Penn State University. He also has a background in land development serving national retail and residential developers.

Barber holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is also a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer and a Certified Accident Reconstructionist. He is a Fellow in the Institute of Transportation Engineers and has served as president of the Mid-Colonial District and Mid-Atlantic Section. He is also a member of the Transportation Research Board, Intelligent Transportation Society of America, the American Society of Highway Engineers, the Pennsylvania Energy Council, and the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association.
