Gymnastics sensation Shawn Johnson, who also won “Dancing with the Stars” in 2009, joined gold medalist and women’s basketball star Lisa Leslie; track & field athletes Funmi Jimoh and Chaunte Howard-Lowe; and gold medalist swimmer Dana Vollmer, in designing one-of-five special Girl Scout patches that brings to life the global priorities of the Girls’ World Forum.

The celebrity-designed patches feature Girl Scout global themes, such as the promotion of gender equality and women empowerment; the eradication of hunger and poverty; the guarantee of environmental sustainability; global citizenship; and sisterhood. The Girls’ World Forum will take place this July in Chicago, where participants will be given an amazing opportunity to meet and interact with a global girl audience to help devise systems to assist with the world's most urgent challenges.

“The Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary marks a time of great accomplishment for girls everywhere, and we are honored to celebrate with Girl Scouts in a unique and remarkable way,” said Nestlé USA Confections & Snacks spokesperson, Tricia Bowles.

Added Bowles, “In addition to sponsoring the Girls’ World Forum, Nestlé Crunch believes strongly in the Girl Scouts’ mission of developing and encouraging tomorrow’s women leaders. We are committed to helping the Girl Scouts achieve its goals, and we have mobilized our internal resources to support their efforts.”

As part of Nestlé’s continued commitment, Nestlé USA has included Girl Scouts of the USA in its employee giving “Community Cares” program. Community Cares encourages Nestlé employees to give to any non-profit of their choice, in which they will receive matching funds.

“This is a wonderful and exciting time for us, for the Movement, and above all for girls. There isn’t a question in my mind or a shred of doubt in my soul that we, together, are going ToGetHerThere,” said Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA.
