Honda CR-V and Acura RDX records best ever June sales

Honda Civic remains number one-selling passenger car

TORONTO, July 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Combined June sales of 13,557 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 42% increase over last year's sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported June sales of 12,047 units, up 43% from last year, led by record sales of Honda CR-V (up 228%), Fit (up 141%), Pilot (up 78%), and Ridgeline (up 73%). The Acura Division reported June sales of 1,510 units, up 33% over last year, with record sales of Acura RDX (up 169%) and TSX (up 102%).

"We are pleased that the all-new Honda CR-V and the Acura RDX continue to hit their monthly sales records and other models such as Honda Fit, Pilot, Ridgeline and Acura TSX are showing strong sales, as a result of our normal supply levels versus last year," said Jerry Chenkin, Executive Vice president, Honda Canada Inc.

"We thank Canadians for continuing to embrace Civic, which remains the number one selling passenger car in Canada for the first half of the year," added Chenkin.

Honda Canada has sold approximately 3.6 million Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks in Canada since 1973. Of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in June, 94% were produced at the company's assembly plants in North America.
