Seattle-Tacoma International Airport travelers no longer have to worry
if they forgot to stop at the bank on their way out of town or try to
find a bank once they arrive at their destination. That’s because U.S.
Bank has opened a new branch at Sea-Tac Airport, serving travelers,
airport businesses and thousands of employees who work on site.
The branch will be located on the ticketing level next to Starbucks,
between security checkpoints 3 and 4. It will be open Monday through
Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There
are 22 U.S. Bank ATMs throughout the airport and the new rental car
facility. The branch will be available to serve nearly 33 million people
who traverse the airport each year. Additionally, it will serve nearly
15,000 airport employees.
"We are excited to partner with the Port of Seattle to bring U.S. Bank
to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport," said Dan Hoke, senior vice
president and head of on-site banking for U.S. Bank. "The new location
will be an added convenience for so many of our customers who come and
go through the airport every day. We look forward to serving airport
employees, as well as all of the businesses located at Sea-Tac that can
take care of all of their banking needs without leaving the facility."
Selection of the airport for a branch site represents a concerted effort
by U.S. Bank to open offices in more non-traditional locations, such as
university campuses and corporate sites. The bank has three other
airport branches: Portland, St. Louis and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Kristen Link, who previously managed the U.S. Bank branch at Seattle
Pacific University, will manage the new on-site branch at Sea-Tac. Link
has been with U.S. Bank for three years and has 10 years of banking
experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
Local officials will formally welcome U.S. Bank to Sea-Tac with a
ribbon-cutting celebration in August. U.S. Bank will have opened seven
new Seattle branches by the end of 2012.
With a legacy dating back to the founding Peoples National Bank of
Washington in 1889, U.S. Bank now has 89 branches and 1,388 employees in
Seattle with 182 branches and 2,422 employees across the State of
Washington. Strong and stable throughout the recession, U.S. Bank nearly
doubled its small business lending in the market from the beginning of
2008 through the first quarter of 2012. In 2011, small business lending
grew 19 percent, and in May 2012 U.S. Bank reached a milestone $1
billion in outstanding balances with small business customers.
