Shaw Reports Recovery Progress and Apologizes for Impact of Explosion on Customers and the Public

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/17/12 -- Shaw Communications (TSX:SJR.B)(NYSE:SJR) continues to work with its customers and tenants to fully restore services following last week's explosion and fire at Shaw Court.

"We know many people have been affected by this incident in different ways, and we are sorry for the impact caused," said Peter Bissonnette, President, Shaw Communications Inc. "We understand the frustration that this incident has had on our customers, tenants and many Albertans as a result of last week's fire."

As a result of significant damage from the building's fire suppression systems, 900 Shaw Court employees will be temporarily relocated throughout the city at Shaw's seven other building locations. Employees will be relocated for several months during restoration efforts to allow for business continuity.
