WALTHAM, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/06/12 -- MetraTech Corp., the leading provider of agreements-based billing and compensation solutions, today announced that it is pre-installing the Microsoft® (NASDAQ: MSFT) Office 365 product SKUs and pricing in the catalog of Metanga, its multi-tenant cloud-based commerce solution.

Until this past month, Microsoft partners were only able to act as advisers to their end customers who purchased the newest online version of Office 365. End customers had to purchase the solution directly from Microsoft. With the change recently announced at Microsoft's World Partner Conference (WPC) 2012 event in Toronto, partners can now sell Office 365 and bill their customers directly for the solution via Metanga.

"Partners who sell their software solutions online may want to sell them together with Microsoft solutions like Office 365 or Windows Azure," said Jeff Lear, ISV director for Microsoft. "Metanga enables those partners to craft custom offerings while streamlining the licensing, metering and billing of the combined offerings. We believe Metanga provides a useful tool for managing this growing type of consumption by corporate customers."

As a commerce solution, Metanga supports a quote-to-cash commerce model that includes sales quoting, bundling, pricing, enrollment, billing and customer support. A PCI-compliant offering, Metanga was also one of the first enterprise applications conceived and built on Windows Azure.

"We believe this opportunity will be significant for the partner community," said Scott Swartz, CEO of MetraTech. "Microsoft has essentially unleashed the power of 50,000 global partners as their Office 365 sales force. Sales are inherently relationship driven, so keeping the partner involved is key. As the only billing and commerce solution native to the public cloud, we wanted to enable this great strategy."
