Customers and employees from TD Bank, TD Insurance and TD Ameritrade surpassed the campaign's previous high of more than $1 million, set in 2011, through a combination of in-store donations, wristband sales at TD Bank store locations, internal employee fundraising, and corporate giving efforts at each of the companies for six weeks during the summer.

TD Bank customers and employees purchased more than 165,000 "Be a fan" wristbands with all proceeds contributing to the total money raised.

"We are extremely proud of TD employees, customers and everyone who helped make this year's campaign a success," said Fred Graziano, Executive Vice President and Head of Regional Commercial Banking, Government Banking and Small Business for TD Bank. "From volunteering at Special Olympics events, where they helped lead athletes to their events and cheered them on, to organizing and contributing to fundraisers, our employees and customers went above and beyond to support these remarkable athletes."

Funds raised in each state go directly to the respective local Special Olympics chapter.
