Former Alberta Cabinet Minister Ron Liepert joins Canadian Strategy Group

After serving as Minister of four key portfolios, Liepert to provide strategic advice to Alberta businesses

EDMONTON, Sept. 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadian Strategy Group is proud to announce that Ron Liepert, former Alberta Minister of Education, Health & Wellness, Energy and Finance, is joining the firm as Senior Advisor.

As Senior Advisor with Canadian Strategy Group, Mr. Liepert will provide client counsel to companies and organizations that are seeking effective communication models and strategic advice.  Based out of the firm's new Calgary office, he will provide counsel to both the firm and directly to clients.

Mr. Liepert served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the riding of Calgary-West from 2004 to 2012. He served as Minister of Education, Minister of Health and Wellness, Minister of Energy and Minister of Finance during his time in government. Prior to his time as an elected official, he worked for Telus and was involved in the company's purchase of ED TEL and merger with BC TEL. He also operated a Calgary-based public relations consulting firm. His interest in politics was intensified with his appointment by Premier Lougheed to serve as his Press Secretary in the early eighties.
