Southern California transportation and business leaders, including
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) and Mayor
Antonio R. Villaraigosa, will announce steps the region is taking
to prevent permanent gridlock traffic at the Mobility 21 Summit.
The press event will highlight Southern California’s much-needed
investment in goods movement, the vital role of local funding,
public-private partnerships and the need to invest in all modes of
transportation. Leaders will call the public to action to voice
their support of transportation improvements in Southern
Hon. Bill Shuster, Chair, Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and
Hazardous Materials of the House Transportation and Infrastructure
Hon. Paul Glaab, Mayor, City of Laguna Niguel and Chair, Orange
County Transportation Authority
Besides attending the press conference, the media is invited to
join more than 800 transportation officials and business leaders
for the 11th annual Southern California Transportation
Summit to highlight ways the region is coming together to address
transportation challenges and opportunities, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
