Becomes The First Chinese New Television Sponsor of HKIA
HONG KONG, Feb. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Limited( http://multimedia.tcl.com ) ("TCL Multimedia" or "the Group", HKSE stock code: 01070) announced the completion of a television project in sponsoring Hong Kong International Airport ("HKIA") and that it has become the new television sponsor of HKIA, making the Group the first Chinese television manufacturer with its TV products featured at HKIA.
Since June 2012, TCL Multimedia has been engaging in a sponsoring project involving more than 100 Smart Cloud TVs at HKIA. The Group has already installed all existing TVs to TCL Smart Cloud TVs at HKIA. In the last phase of the project, HKIA will introduce 20 new TV locations for airport passengers. At that time, TCL's leading display equipment will be available throughout HKIA in 2013.
Before becoming the first Chinese new television supplier of HKIA, the Group has landed in a number of major domestic airports, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Dalian, Haikou, Sanya, Urumqi and Hohhot, etc., as the only designated television supplier for public demonstration in these airports. Through HKIA platform, the Group will effectively enhance its global brand image to allow consumers from around the world to experience the technological strengths of TCL products as well as the charisma of the TCL brand.
In the past year, the Group became the exclusive partner of CCTV's 3D Channel, collaborated with the blockbuster movie "Batman", "The Avengers", "Cloud Atlas" and "Transformers 3", etc., as well as featured smart TV and mobile handsets in "Iron Man 3" movie and held joint promotions, while also sponsoring numerous international competitions and other activities to exhibit its high-end and stylish image. In addition, the Group has obtained the naming rights of Grauman Chinese Theatre, the landmark building on Hollywood Boulevard. The building will be officially renamed "Hollywood TCL Chinese Theatre".
