ISLAMABAD, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- International money laundering and graft charges against former Pakistan President Minister Asif Ali Zardari will not be reopened, Swiss court officials said.
Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered the matter closed and held former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in contempt for seeking to have Swiss officials reopen the case against Zardari, his late wife Benazir Bhutto and others.
Pakistani Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq H. Naek said he received a letter from the Swiss courts saying the case was closed in 2009 and would not be reopened because Zardari is no longer in power, The News International of Karachi, Pakistan said Saturday.
