Mischler Financial Group Bulks Up Equities Trading Platform; Veteran-Owned Firm Adds Institutional Investor-Ranked Equity Strategist; Expands 24-Hr Global Execution

Tuesday, February 12, 2013 9:45 AM

STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mischler Financial Group ("MFG"), the minority broker-dealer and the securities industry's oldest service-disabled-veteran-owned business enterprise (SDVBE), announced that Neil Currie, a repeat member of Institutional Investor magazine's All-America Research Team, and Robert Livio, a 20-year international equities trading veteran, have joined the firm's institutional equities trading group. Both Mr. Currie, who becomes the firm's Consumer Market Strategist, and Mr. Livio, who will oversee the firm's global equities execution platform, have been appointed Managing Directors; each will be based in the firm's Stamford, CT office and will report directly to firm CEO Dean Chamberlain.

Commentating on the two new appointments, Mr. Chamberlain stated, "The credibility, expertise and industry-wide recognition that both Neil and Rob bring to Mischler demonstrates our on-going commitment to provide real and unique value to clients in a world in which global equities market insight and execution capabilities seem to have become commoditized."

Added Chamberlain, "Aside from the many distinguished awards Neil Currie has received from peers within the equities research community, his analytic credentials, coupled with his 20-plus years providing Tier 1 institutional investors with truly objective, thought-provoking, and prescient insight to various consumer market sectors and individual companies is a value-add that few firms, regardless of pedigree, can claim to offer." Chamberlain further stated, "On the trade execution side, the addition of Rob Livio puts Mischler into a whole new category. Throughout his 20 years in the industry, Rob has held senior international trade execution roles for top firms on both sides of the Street, making him ideally-suited to oversee a global trade execution desk that provides Tier 1 institutions with a 24-hour, high-tech/high-touch access point to a broad menu of international markets and ADRs."
