Allianz Life Promotes Andreas Graser to Senior Vice President, Corporate Risk Management

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) promoted Andreas Graser to senior vice president in the Corporate Risk Management department. Graser, whose full title is chief risk officer and SVP, leads Allianz Life’s enterprise risk management and provides counsel for the Allianz operating group on all risk-relevant topics. His team manages the Allianz Life capital position under different capital models, monitors key exposures and provides independent oversight over the company’s dynamic hedging program. Graser reports to the Chief Financial Officer Giulio Terzariol.

Prior to joining Allianz Life in 2007, Graser held senior leadership roles at Fireman’s Fund® Insurance Company in Novato, Calif. He served as vice president of Planning and head of Commercial Business Finance where he led strategic planning for multiple business units and was responsible for the oversight of establishing the investment planning model of the company. Graser joined Allianz SE in 2000 where he was a controller with Allianz AG Holding Group in the planning and controlling department for five years. He was responsible for monitoring and analyzing performance of Allianz SE operating entities including Allianz Life, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Allianz Global Risks U.S. Insurance Company and Mondial Assistance Group (which is known today as Allianz Global Assistance).

Prior to his role with Allianz SE, Graser was an analyst with Dresdner Bank AG (currently Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt, Germany) where he was a member of the risk methodology department for the bank’s trading activities.

Graser holds a Master of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Milwaukee, Wisc. and a Master in Business Mathematics degree from the University of Ulm, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
