OAO Rostelecom is the main telecommunications operator which provides long-distance and international telecommunications services in the Russian Federation. Rostelecom provides transit services for a number of foreign operators as well as TV and sound broadcasting via its network throughout the territory of Russia. Moreover, Rostelecom has started offering new services (Internet, IP- telephony, ATM, multimedia) in addition to the services mentioned.
