Kirkland's Inc. (Nasdaq: KIRK), a leading home decor company, reported a decline in Q1 net income to $3.2 million, or 15 cents per share, from $6.5 million, or 32 cents per share a year earlier. Revenue rose to $94.4 million from $93.5 million a year earlier. Total operating expenses rose to $29.7 million from its previous $26.7 million. Shares tumbled 12.37 percent, or $1.85, to trade at $13.10.
Donaldson Co. Inc. (NYSE: DCI), a vertically integrated filtration company in the production and marketing of products, reported a 25 percent increase in its Q3 net income to $61.8 million, or 79 cents per share, from $49.5 million, or 62 cents per share a year earlier. Revenue rose to $594.6 million. Analysts had estimated earnings of 72 cents per share on revenue of $580.3 million. Shares were down 0.25 percent, or 15 cents, to trade at $60.86.
Hibbett Sports Inc. (Nasdaq: HIBB), a leading retail chain offering an assortment of footwear, apparel and equipment, reported a 23 percent increase in its Q1 net income to $21.3 million, or 76 cents per share, from $17.3 million, or 59 cents per share a year earlier. Revenue rose 10.4 percent to $203.7 million. Analysts had estimated earnings of 66 cents per share on revenue of $203.7 million. Shares added 3.85 percent, or $1.44, to trade at $38.95.
Landec Corp. (Nasdaq: LNDC), which designs, develops, manufactures and sells temperature-activated polymer and membrane products, reported a 33 percent increase in its Q3 net income to $2.3 million, or 9 cents per diluted share. Revenue rose 26 percent to $73.5 million. Analysts had forecasted earnings of 6 cents per share for the company. Shares were down 0.77 percent, or 7 cents, to trade at $5.79.
