Hospira (HSP) Retreats After Weak Forecast, 4Q Loss

Hospira Inc. (NYSE:HSP) sees adjusted EPS between $2.00 and $2.30 for 2012, trailing Wall Street projections of $2.42.

The stock dropped 5% to $32.50 in Tuesday's premarket trading.

HSP expects net sales change between negative 1 percent to positive 2 percent for the full-year on a constant-currency basis.

For Q4, the medication delivery company reported adjusted EPS of 51 cents, topping consensus estimate of 45 cents. On a GAAP basis, HSP lost $1.30 a share, compared with EPS of 36 cents.

Revenue of $1.0 billion also beat expectations of $952.5 million.

HSP shares closed at $34.22 on Tuesday. Over the past year, the stock has been trading between $26.92 and $59.20.
