(By Balaseshan) TransAct Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:TACT), which designs and develops transaction printers, said it has signed a new contract with a U.S. casino company to install the Epicentral Print System.
The Epicentral Print System will be connected to over 1,700 slot machines and is projected to go live before the end of this year.
In addition, as part of the installation process, the casino is upgrading 500 printers in their slot machines to the TransAct Epic 950 printer in order to ensure full usage of the System.
The Epicentral Print System, which is connected directly to TransAct's ServerPort device inside the slot machine, is an easy-to-use, cost-efficient software system that enables casinos to internally develop marketing programs and promotional coupons to be distributed to customers on a real-time basis at a slot machine.
Additionally, the system works with all existing slot systems and games as it is separate and distinct from the slot system itself.
With this, casinos will be able to use the Epicentral Print System to connect to all existing slot machines, regardless of the game's manufacturer, to drive increased revenue and enhance their customers' experience on a real-time basis.
TransAct engages in developing and manufacturing market-specific solutions, including printers, terminals, software and other products for transaction-based and other industries. These industries include casino, gaming, lottery, banking, kiosk, point-of-sale, food safety, hospitality, oil and gas, and medical and mobile.
TACT is trading up 0.93% at $7.59 on Thursday. The stock has been trading between $5.80 and $9.89 for the past 52 weeks.
