(By Balaseshan) Dividend announcement by companies on Thursday include: Yum! Brands, ConAgra, Washington Trust, Jefferies, Waddell & Reed, Woodward, InterDigital, Sanderson Farms, Deltic Timber, Belo, Sycamore Networks, Dynex Capital, and Central Bancorp.

Dividend Increase:

Quick service restaurant operator Yum! Brands Inc. (NYSE:YUM) said its board has approved an 18% increase in its quarterly dividend from $0.285 to $0.335 per share, payable on November 2 to shareholders of record as of October 12. The stock, which has been in $47.15 to $74.44 range for past year, is currently trading up 0.10% at $67.90.

ConAgra Foods Inc. (NYSE:CAG) said its board has approved an increase in its quarterly dividend from $0.24 to $0.25 per share, payable on December 4 to stockholders of record as of October 31. The stock, which has been in $22.39 to $27.75 range for past year, is currently trading up 6.74% at $27.38.

Washington Trust Bancorp (NASDAQ:WASH) said its board has increased its quarterly dividend by $0.01 to $0.24 per share, payable on October 12 to shareholders of record on October 1. The stock, which has been in $18.62 to $26.76 range for past year, is currently trading down 0.53% at $26.12.

Dividend Declaration:

Jefferies Group Inc. (NYSE:JEF), an investment banking firm, has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.075 per common share, payable on November 15 to stockholders of record on October 15. The stock, which has been in $9.50 to $19.82 range for past year, is currently trading down 6.70% at $14.61.

Waddell & Reed Financial Inc. (NYSE:WDR) has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per class A common share, payable on November 1 to stockholders of record as of October 11. The stock, which has been in $22.85 to $34.04 range for past year, is currently trading down 0.18% at $33.34.

Woodward Inc. (NASDAQ:WWD), a manufacturer of energy control and optimization services, has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.08 per share, payable on December 3 to stockholders of record as of November 19. The stock, which has been in $25.39 to $46 range for past year, is currently trading down 1.61% at $36.05.

InterDigital Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), which develops advanced wireless communications technologies, has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per common share, payable on October 24 to shareholders of record as of October 10. The stock, which has been in $22.37 to $62.07 range for past year, is currently trading down 2.52% at $34.03.

Sanderson Farms Inc. (NASDAQ:SAFM), a poultry processing company, has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.17 per share, payable October 16 to stockholders of record on October 2. The stock, which has been in $36.11 to $55.87 range for past year, is currently trading up 0.27% at $45.11.

Deltic Timber Corp. (NYSE:DEL), a natural resources company, has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.075 per share, payable on December 17 to stockholders of record as of December 3. The stock, which has been in $50.75 to $76.03 range for past year, is currently trading down 0.17% at $65.29.

Belo Corp. (NYSE:BLC), which owns 20 television stations, has declared fourth quarter cash dividend of $0.08 per share, payable on December 7 to shareholders of record as of November 16. The stock, which has been in $4.36 to $9 range for past year, is currently trading up 0.13% at $7.95.

Sycamore Networks Inc. (NASDAQ:SCMR), which develops intelligent bandwidth management services, has declared a special cash distribution of $10.00 per common share, payable on October 11 to stockholders of record as of October 1. The stock, which has been in $13.02 to $20.16 range for past year, is currently trading up 7.09% at $15.70.

Dynex Capital Inc. (NYSE:DX), a mortgage REIT, has declared third quarter dividend of $0.29 per share, payable on October 31 to stockholders of record as of October 5. The stock, which has been in $7.25 to $10.92 range for past year, is currently trading up 1.11% at $10.92.

Central Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:CEBK) has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.05 per share, payable on or about October 19 to stockholders of record as of October 5. The stock, which has been in $16.05 to $32.34 range for past year, is currently trading up 0.47% at $32.30.
