(By Balaseshan) Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: KTOS) said it has partnered with BSC Partners LLC to develop new aircrew training systems.
The company has entered into an exclusive partnership with BSC Partners to produce aircrew training products and advanced aircrew training technology through mutual company commitments in product development and internal research and development.
Aircrew training is instrumental for completing successful aircraft missions when multiple crew members must work together on a common process.
Aircrew duties during flights can include operations and maintenance of airborne equipment, performing tactical duties as flight engineers or as loadmasters or operating crew-served weapons.
Kratos is a player in advanced simulation and training technology solutions, including past aircrew development products such as the Medevac Crew Training System and Hoist Operations Training System for the H60 aircraft platform.
"With the tempo of military operations declining in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. armed forces will be putting more and more emphasis on homeland training and training systems," said Phil Carrai, President of Kratos' Technology & Training Division.
The company said the emphasis on homeland training and training systems, combined with ongoing budget challenges, means that deployed systems will be upgraded and their life cycle extended.
"This creates an environment of opportunity for Kratos as we work together with our partners to deliver cost effective solutions for aircrews and similar training needs," Carrai added.
KTOS is trading down 0.45% at $4.42 on Tuesday. The stock has been trading between $4.14 and $7.79 for the past 52 weeks.
