(By Balaseshan) Acacia Research Corp. (NASDAQ: ACTG), which acquires, develops, licenses and enforces patented technologies, said its unit has entered into settlement agreement with maker of Cochlear Implants.
Adaptive Sonics LLC has entered into a settlement agreement with Cochlear Ltd. and Cochlear Americas Corp. The settlement agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
In a separate release, the company said its Criminal Activity Surveillance LLC subsidiary has entered into a settlement agreement with Siemens Industry Inc. covering a patent directed to video analytics used in the field of security. This agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
On December 21, a subsidiary of Acacia have entered into a patent licensing alliance with TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: TSYS), whereby the Acacia subsidiary has acquired the rights to a portion of TSYS' wireless data synchronization & data transfer patent portfolio.
On December 14, the company's Gametek LLC subsidiary has entered into a license and settlement agreement with The Playforge LLC, Playforge Games LLC, Playforge Games II LLC, Saban Brands LLC and Saban Properties LLC. This agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
