(By Balaseshan) SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI), which provides scientific, engineering, and technical services, said it has received a prime contract worth $73 million from the U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide software engineering maintenance and management services in support of the Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) managed by the Product Manager for Joint Personnel Identification (PM JPI), including sustainment of the specified design criteria and quality standards of PM JPI.
The single-award firm-fixed price (FFP), cost plus fixed fee (CPFF) and cost reimbursement (CR) task order has an eight-month base period of performance with a one-year option, and a total contract value of $73 million, if the option is exercised.
The task order was awarded under the U.S. Army's Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) Information Technology Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services (ITES-2S) contract vehicle.
Work will be performed primarily in Alexandria, Virginia; Williamsburg, Virginia; Charleston, South Carolina; Sierra Vista, Arizona; and Fairmont, West Virginia.
PM JPI will provide the U.S. Military with a tactical biometric collection capability to capture biometric data and enroll them into the Department of Defense's (DoD) enterprise authoritative biometric database. PM JPI will aid in positively identifying and verifying the identity of actual or potential adversaries.
SAI closed Tuesday's regular session at $11.86. The stock has been trading between $10.31 and $14.20 for the past 52 weeks.
