(By Balachander) Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) has agreed to offer its sports, news and entertainment content to AT&T U-verse TV customers under a new multi-year deal.
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, AT&T U-verse customers will be able to access live and video on demand content, both in-home and out-of-home, on their computers, smartphones, tablets, internet-enabled televisions and gaming consoles.
"The renewal with AT&T U-verse ... extends the value of the multichannel subscription model with the addition of new networks and services from The Walt Disney Company," said David Preschlack, Executive Vice President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Disney & ESPN Networks Group.
Roughly 70 services are covered by the agreement including: ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel and more than 10 high-definition networks among others.
In addition, the companies said AT&T U-verse will launch several new services, including the full suite of authenticated WATCH services.
DIS shares gained 0.70 percent or $0.35 to trade at $50.94 at 1.55 pm ET on Tuesday.
