(By Balaseshan) AVG Technologies NV (NYSE: AVG), a provider of Internet and mobile security, said it has entered into new cooperation with Samsung UK for free download of AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android from Samsung Apps.
The Amsterdam, the Netherlands-based company said the new agreement will allow Samsung smartphone, tablet and camera owners in the United Kingdom to download AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android for free from Samsung Apps.
Under the terms of the agreement, owners of Android-based Samsung devices such as the bestselling Galaxy S 3 and Galaxy Camera will be able to download and install a full-featured version of AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android for free from Samsung Apps.
"AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android combines the very best of AVG's mobile technologies, from safer web browsing, real-time app scanning and privacy controls through to battery and performance tune-ups," the company said in a statement.
In a separate release, the company announced its latest versions of AVG AntiVirus products for Android smartphones and tablets. Versions 3.1 of AVG AntiVirus FREE and PRO for both device types are now available for download from Google Play.
Both versions of AntiVirus FREE and PRO for Android Tablets (3.1.2) have a completely new user interface, with simplified menus, screens and settings adding to the products' look and feel and improving the ease of navigation.
AVG AntiVirus FREE and PRO for Android both now include a Call & SMS Blocker feature which lets the user filter unwanted calls and text messages by building their own customized "black and white" phone lists.
AVG is trading up 0.06% at $15.55 on Tuesday. The stock has been trading between $9.42 and $16.39 for the past 52 weeks.
