A very overrated company. I've used TD for many years. There are various
poorly intigrated thrid party programs, which TD bawt--such as Think or
Swim (awful name, IMO), and zero useful portfolio tools. For example, I
want a program to give me my total portfolio compared to any index, or I
want to know it's aggregate volatility, and which entities cawz the
most risk. Nothing like that at TD Ameritrade. Another example: When you
initiate a trade ticket, before the transaction is triggered you shoud
see the total cost to you in the ticket, not have to guess or use a
calculator, etc. Nothing like that at TD Ameritrade. I have made
numerous suggestions in the "Feedback" link, resulting in a polite email
response but NO action. The ONLY thing keeping me at TD Ameritirade is
the 100 commission free ETFs (free to sell after 30 days of holding,
free to buy anytime). No other broker can compare, and that's why I stay. |
