Excellent news for A-Power Energy (APWR) in terms of credibility - letter of intent signed with a unit of General Electric Drivetrain Technologies (GE). If the order of the deal was in reverse (APWR supplying GE) this would be enormous - but better than a sharp stick to the eye. So this now gives A-Power relationships with a large European wind focused company and one of the largest conglomerates on Earth. Ok, finally we have the fire behind the smoke. This morning a press release about the termination of the CFO at A-Power Energy (APWR) - now the first reaction when I see the CFO leaving is abject fright since it usually means a litany of bad news to come. Focusing On The Long Side For Tuesday

We ended today above the support lines I drew in this morning's post. Many traders will be looking for a rally tomorrow, given the extreme action today and end-of-day buying that took place. Perhaps some value investors will be looking for (what they consider to be) bargains as well. It may not happen, but odds do appear to be better for long side trades. In particular, I am looking for stocks that have seen extreme selling, and had buyers emerging late today, especially past earnings winners. The commodity- and energy-related sectors are proving quite a few of these chart types. Furthermore, if we do get a strong rally, expect many of these names to move over 10% in a single day, providing some great trading opportunities in the process. - APWR saw considerable buying volume after its initial drop, and closed well off its low of 4.51. For the third quarter of 2009, the Halter USX China Index (NYSE Arca: HXC) was up 10.59%.
During the same period, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 14.98% and the NASDAQ increased 15.66%.
