The Federal Reserve's balance sheet declined by $15 billion to $2,183 billion from the prior week, after the Fed presumably offloaded $2.7 billion in MBS: this is the first time since QE started that MBS holdings have declined. County's unemployment rate rises to nearly 13 percent

Dec. 4--Stanly County was one of 74 counties from across the state that experienced an increase in the unemployment rate from September to October, according to statistics released by the state's Employment Security Commission (ESC).
Rates decreased in 19 counties and remained the same in seven.
"While some of the increases are seasonal, there is a continued effect throughout the state from this recession," said ESC Chairman Moses Carey, Jr.
