Nov. 29--Sure, loud commercials can be annoying.
That said, here are the results, which note all the commercials that vary from the average program volume by two decibels:

First Solar plant re-energized: Expansion reflects growth in demand across North America

Nov. 22--A huge expansion of a solar panel manufacturing plant in Perrysburg Township is nearing completion just in time for a massive planned increase in solar energy use across the United States and Canada.
Utility-scale solar fields, mostly in the West and South, will consume the output of the First Solar Inc. plant through 2015 and probably will cause the company to import panels from its factories in Europe and Asia, an official said.
Massive solar fields built by First Solar have been completed or are nearing completion outside Las Vegas, in southern California, and in Ontario along Lake Huron.

Nov. 12--Small-business owners frustrated with Windows Vista's assorted hardware incompatibilities, ceaseless battery of pop-up alerts and puttering speeds can officially unclench their jaws and ease those quivering fists away from their screens.
Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 7, is finally available for purchase and -- amen -- actually good enough to make even holdouts still clinging desperately to Windows XP want to upgrade after all these years.
Albeit no revolution in desktop computing -- it's essentially a revamp of Vista that addresses owners' most common complaints and tightens the user interface -- make no bones about it -- Windows 7 provides a welcome evolutionary step forward for the platform, significantly improving security, stability and everyday convenience.

Oct. 17--West Virginia has been known as the Coal State almost since its inception, but it is also the Plastics State.
Marshall University's Center for Business and Economic Research, in a study conducted for the Polymer Alliance Zone, found that the industry contributes $2.2 billion to the West Virginia economy and employs about 8,000 people.
Toyota's engine and transmission plant in Buffalo recently began supplying 6-cylinder engines to its Highlander sport utility plant in Indiana.

The JayMac Alumni Association will present the Distinguished Alumni award for 2009 to retired Tulsa World food editor Suzanne Arnote Holloway, advertising executive and CEO of Bernstein-Rein Advertising Bob Bernstein and former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico James R. Jones.
In addition, Newsweek White House Correspondent Holly Bailey will be honored with the 2009 Young Professional award.
