Career & Tech Centers Eye 'Solar Farms'

Apr. 9--The Lancaster County Career & Technology Center's three campuses may go solar.
The CTC board of directors has signed a letter of intent to have PPL Renewable Energy build "solar farms" around its schools in Mount Joy, Willow Street and Brownstown with the goal of cutting electricity bills by $45,000 a year.
The CTC would provide the land for acres of solar panels, which PPL would install at its expense.

Jan. 30--SOUTHINGTON -- Four women from Greater New Haven were among 10 people honored by the Connecticut Technology Council Thursday for their innovation and leadership in the fields of technology, science and engineering.
CTC is the state's industry association for the technology sector.

Cabinet Orders Zour Probe

Aug. 26--KUWAIT -- The Council of Ministers yesterday decided to refer the giant fourth refinery project to the Audit Bureau for assessment, bowing to mounting political pressure from MPs, who welcomed the measure as a step in the right direction.
The decision came during the Cabinet's weekly meeting and was based on a recommendation by Oil Minister Mohammad Al-Olaim, the Foreign Minister and Acting State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah said.
Sheikh Mohammad said the Cabinet ordered Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), which owns all refineries in the country, to refer all documents and data related to the refinery project to the Audit Bureau to allow it to assess the project with regards to its legal and financial aspects.
