Worldwide net sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2010 were $38.5 million compared to $33.7 million in the comparable period of fiscal 2009, an increase of 14%.
U.S. net product sales increased to $30.9 million, compared with $26.2 million in the comparable period of fiscal 2009, an increase of $4.7 million or 18%.

Cyberonics, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the company's proposal to amend the protocol of its D-21 post-approval dosing study in depression patients treated with VNS Therapy.The company submitted a proposal in November 2008 to reduce the number of study subjects from 460 to 330 and completed enrollment of 331 study subjects in February 2009. With this decision from the FDA, the company expects to complete the follow-up on all patients enrolled in the study by March 2010. Worldwide net sales for fiscal 2009 were $143.6 million, compared to $121.2 million in fiscal 2008, an increase of 18%.
