The S&P 500 comprises of 500 large cap common stocks actively traded in the United States. The largees public companies that are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ are included in the S&P 500 index. The S&P 500 index was lunched in 1957 and is a value weighted index which is based on the 500 American stocks with the largest market capitalizations. With all the recent hub-bub about “Wall Street vs. Main Street,” maybe its time investors start taking stock of what Main Street wants. City OKs selling of bonds for 3 projects

Dec. 2--EL PASO -- The city's stormwater utility is moving forward with three more drainage improvement projects, thanks to the federal stimulus program that will provide interest-free financing.
El Paso Water Utilities will save nearly $3.6 million in interest over 20 years, said Ed Archuleta, the utility's president and chief executive officer.
City Council members voted 8-0 Tuesday to allow the utility to sell $6.425 million in bonds to finance two stormwater projects in the Lower Valley and one in far East El Paso.
