Weekly Charts And Trends: Nov 22, 2009

Main Points

EURUSD ST– The volatile consolidation continues.Clear signs of tiredness, but won’t actively look for a broader downside correction until (if) 55-dma at 1.4767 breaks on a close basis.

USD Index– Same respect of 55-dma, particularly with the USD –ve seasonals. A close above the 55-dma needed to call for a broader turn, stands at 76.15, if achieved would be serious.

Gold– Consolidates against the highs. Broader position squaring may cause it to correct but should be very much a buy on the dip.[More...]

Investors may be disappointed this week if Monsanto Co., the world's biggest seed maker, fails to show a clear path to greater profitability, Jefferies & Co. analyst Laurence Alexander said on June 22.

He also said the glyphosate business, which includes Monsanto's Roundup product, will likely continue to be volatile, keeping Monsanto's stock in the narrow trading range in which its shares have held for much of the year, Alexander said in a note to investors.

"Whereas investors appear to be looking for a reset of expectations to help Monsanto break out of its recent trading range, the timing of the third-quarter earnings call suggests the outcome will more likely be a muddle than a resolution," Alexander said.

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 30, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Aftermarket news Friday from Ideal Financial Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:IFSL) should turn heads among investors of the financial sector scrutinizing the smallest details for indications of the future.

Ideal's news that the financial services company has posted better than a 1,000% increase in revenue based on the sale of its debt management software should be enough to garner interest, but the greater news may be in the fact that IFSL's financial program continues to sell robustly amid the signs of a strengthening economy.

It was an interesting juxtaposition of news over the weekend, Ideal's strong revenue increase and the Black Friday retail sales reports, which by most accounts were pretty bullish.
