Nov. 6--Southwest Idaho tends to have relatively mild winters, but the colder months can still wreak havoc on your home energy bill.
"People really don't realize how inefficient their home is," said Todd McGiverin, owner of Ecohome Solutions, a local contractor specializing in home improvements that enhance the comfort, energy efficiency and air quality of your home.
"The average home has close to an open door when you add up all the cracks and holes, and it's usually up in the attic or in the crawl space," McGiverin said.

Nov. 2--Winn-Dixie Stores Inc.'s stock (NASDAQ: WINN) fell to a six-month low last week after it reported a net loss for the first quarter ended Sept. 16.
It wasn't so much the quarterly results that made investors nervous.
"We can't exactly explain from this quarter's results why a turnaround that had so much momentum has moderated, but that's exactly why a more neutral stance is warranted," Feeney said in his research note.

Nelson's contractor brought the Dumpster to his client's Monticello house this year to collect debris from a construction project.
Then he discovered that Todd Gratrix, of Gratrix Construction Inc., hadn't paid a $5,896 bill for supplies or the bill for the Dumpster.

Oct. 14--MALONE -- Gov. David Paterson came to Malone Tuesday to announce that St. Lawrence Gas will get $2.5 million to extend its natural-gas pipeline through Franklin County.
The proposed 48-mile project would enter through Moira and follow a preferred path along an abandoned railway to the Village of Chateaugay, bringing potential energy savings to businesses along the route.
Before a standing-room-only crowd of department heads, invited guests and town representatives in the County Courthouse, the governor was surrounded by a semicircle of company officials and politicians.

As a result, we are able to provide additional information (unaudited) as of year-end 2008 regarding our mineral interests including estimates of proved developed producing (PDP) reserves and future net cash flows.
We initiated an internal reserve analysis of producing wells where Forestar has a royalty interest and engaged a third-party petroleum engineering firm, Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. (one of the world's largest independent providers of oil and gas reserve information for SEC reporting), to independently prepare estimates of PDP oil and gas reserves and future net cash flows as of year-end 2008.

(NYSE: FOR) today reported second quarter 2009 net income of $50.9 million, or $1.41 per diluted share, compared with second quarter 2008 net income of $9.6 million, or $0.27 per diluted share outstanding.
