Sellers appear to be gaining the upper hand, as selling gained momentum in the second half of US trading yesterday, and Asian markets sold off overnight. While it is a bit premature to call the end of the rally, given yesterday's volume, a few factors indicate that we may resume our downtrend soon: - Momentum appears to be shifting. European markets are also lower this morning in early trading. - Individual chart setups are increasingly favoring short sellers. - Sentiment seems to have shifted too quickly toward bullishness. Couple of firms comment on Gmarket (NASDAQ:GMKT) after the co released its Q3 results and guidance last night:- RBC Capital notes Q3 was lackluster as GMKT reported revenue of $56.9mm vs. RBC $59.5mm and consensus $60.9mm. EBITDA was $7mm vs. RBC $9.2mm. Pro Forma EPS of $0.13 also lagged RBC $0.15 and consensus $0.16. With Korea Deal, eBay Tries Again in Asia

Internet retail giant eBay (EBAY) is going on the offensive in Asia.
On Apr. 16, eBay said it had secured agreements to buy a 67% stake of South Korea's Gmarket (GMKT) in a deal estimated to be worth as much as $1.2 billion.
Last year, Gmarket sold $3.2 billion worth of goods, compared with Internet Auction's $2.2 billion.

After wavering earlier on some gloomy economic news about labor and housing, stocks pushed higher as investors placed bets that Google's (GOOG) first quarter earnings report would top analysts' expectations.
After the market close, Google delivered EPS [non-GAAP] of $5.16, above the $4.93 forecast.
Tech stocks led the way higher Thursday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index climbing 43.64 points, or 2.68%, to 1,670.44.

EBay Unveils Skype IPO Plans

Executives at eBay (EBAY) have made plain that Skype wasn't long for their stable of businesses.
The suspense ended on Apr. 14 when eBay said it would separate Skype through an initial share offering, selling stock to the public in the first half of 2010.
On its face, the announcement represents a sensible way to unlock the value of a company that's growing rapidly, but has never lived up to the expectations outlined by eBay executives, who shelled out $2.6 billion for Skype in 2005 and later paid an additional $500 million in bonuses.

Stocks rallied in the last hour of trading Wednesday after fluctuating for most of the session.
The Federal Reserve's Beige Book indicated the economy contracted in April, but 5 of the 12 districts said the slump moderated.

Gmarket Inc. Announces Intention to Delist Voluntarily Its American Depositary Shares From the NASDAQ Global Select Market

Gmarket Inc. (NASDAQ: GMKT) announced today that it has notified the NASDAQ Stock Market of its intention to delist voluntarily its American Depositary Shares (the "ADSs") from the NASDAQ Global Select Market.
Gmarket is taking the action to delist the ADSs because of the small number of record holders and outstanding ADSs that it expects to remain following the completion of the tender offer by eBay KTA (UK) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay Inc., for all outstanding common shares and ADSs of Gmarket, and because it expects that the ADSs will not meet the continuing listing standards of the NASDAQ Global Select Market following the completion of the tender offer.
The initial offering period of the tender offer expired at 12:00 midnight, New York City time, on Friday, June 12, 2009, and the subsequent offering period for all common shares and ADSs that were not tendered in the initial offering period will expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on Monday, July 20, 2009 (which is 6:00 a.m., Seoul time, on Tuesday, July 21, 2009).

eBay to Expand Asian Operations Through Combination With Gmarket, Korea's Largest Online Marketplace

eBay Inc. (NASDAQ: EBAY) and Gmarket Inc. (NASDAQ: GMKT) today jointly announced a definitive agreement for eBay to combine Gmarket, Korea's leading e-commerce business, with eBay's existing online marketplace in Korea.
Under the terms of the agreement, eBay will make a cash tender offer of $24.00 per share for all outstanding Gmarket common shares and American Depositary Shares, for a total purchase price of up to approximately $1.2 billion assuming all outstanding shares are tendered.
At closing, eBay will hold at least 67 percent of Gmarket as a result of shares tendered pursuant to agreements to tender with members of management and other investors sufficient to satisfy the minimum tender condition, as well as new shares issued by Gmarket in connection with the combination of Gmarket and eBay's existing Korean marketplace business, Internet Auction Company.
