May Job Loss Shockingly Much Lower Than Forecast Just 345,000 jobs were lost last month, the smallest decline since last September. The unemployment rate, however, rose to 9.4% -- its highest level since August 1983. The nonfarm payrolls number is shocking. The drop was less than even the most optimistic forecasts had predicted. A smaller-than-expected drop in construction and temporary jobs appears to have played the biggest role in keeping the losses from being worse. Adding to the surprise was an improvement in April's job losses. The Labor Department now says 504,000 jobs were cut in April, versus the original estimate of 539,000 losses. In the second quarter, Agrium Inc. (AGU) reported diluted earnings per share of $4.00, more than double from $1.70 in the same quarter of the previous year. The recently completed United Agri-Products (UAP) acquisition is estimated to have contributed $0.70 diluted earnings per share for the reported period of May 5 to June 30. Rising global prices for nitrogen, potash and phosphate leveraged by strong demand augur well for AGU. The company also has significant free cash flow. Therefore, we rate the shares a Buy with a target of $100.00. After the acquisition of UAP, the company's market share increased to 16% in the retail business. (ANDS) is currently rebuilding its pipeline after discontinuing the development of both its clinical compounds, ANA380 for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and ANA975 for both HBV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections. The company has undertaken a major restructuring program and will focus on the development of only two compounds, ANA598 for chronic HCV infection and ANA773 for certain cancers and HCV. We see a balanced risk/reward profile for the company and maintain our Hold rating. Ex-HealthSouth CEO Scrushy's bank accounts seized

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Richard Scrushy's bank accounts have been seized in a bid to collect some of the $2.8 billion he was ordered to pay for a fraud that nearly bankrupted Alabama-based HealthSouth Corp.
Shareholder attorney John Somerville said lawyers are trying to collect everything they can from Scrushy, even though he doesn't have enough money to pay all the judgment.
An Alabama judge found Scrushy liable for the fraud at HealthSouth, but Scrushy still maintains he knew nothing about it.
