We continue to see EOG Resources, Inc. (EOG) shares as a core holding in the large-cap exploration and production (E&P) space for the company?s demonstrated ability to achieve consistent production growth, primarily through organic means. EOG?s strong positions in Texas Barnett Shale and North Dakota?s Bakken plays provide it with a multi-year inventory of development drilling opportunities. EOG has a very strong organic production-growth profile, with volumes expected to increase by approximately 15% in 2008. Hurray Holding Co., Ltd. (HRAY) declared second-quarter financial results slightly below our expectation. The company stated that its revenue was impacted by earthquakes in China during May. The management announced that they have stabilized the WVAS business, but we remain concerned that this sector may not be able to contribute meaningfully over the near-term due to strict regulatory policies. The financial outlook for the third quarter also remains tepid. However, Hurray has a strong financial position with 3.33/diluted share of net cash. Ongoing business transformation strategy to develop itself into a leading entertainment content production and distribution provider in China is likely to contribute favorably moving forward. Friday's close was the lowest since October 2006. The NASDAQ has been carving a symmetrical triangle for 5 weeks. Symmetrical triangles are generally continuation patterns, so Friday's action was no surprise, and probably a welcome relief after all the narrow range trade as price moved closer to the apex.
