Ingram Micro a Hold on Headwinds - Analyst Blog

On September 16, Ingram Micro (IM) reduced its outlook for the third quarter, setting its guidance at sales of $8.3-$8.6 billion and EPS of $0.18-$0.23. On October 23, Ingram reported third quarter sales of $8.2 billion and EPS of $0.29. Sales trends remain weak because of slowing global economic growth, but the company's strong cost controls helped it beat its EPS guidance. Going forward, we expect the company to focus on maintaining its gross profit margins and cutting costs. This strategy will lead to a drop-off in its sales growth in the near term, but it should position the company to benefit when macro headwinds finally subside. We rate the stock a Hold with target price of $14. Ingram Micro shares trade at 9.7x our 2008 EPS estimate and 8.8x our 2009 EPS estimate. We think shares of IM[More...]

We maintain our Buy rating and the same valuation target Crown Castle International Corporation (CCI), a leading operator of wireless communications towers in the USA and Australia, following impressive financial results of its second quarter fiscal 2008, better than our estimates. We believe recent weakness in the stock price is related to general global equity market weakness. Overall performance of the company will be driven by substantial demand for more tower space to facilitate high-speed data services, in particular 3G mobile technologies. Wayne County Organizations Look to Save Money on Energy

Oct. 30--HONESDALE -- Alarmed about electricity costs increasing when rate caps are lifted in January, Wayne County organizations gathered Thursday to consider an energy-buying pool program.
"Energy is going to be a big issue for our members," said Patricia Blaum, Southern Wayne Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director.
Facing on average a 30- to 35-percent increase in electricity costs, 96 organizations from throughout the state have joined the company's program, including chambers of commerce in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, OnDemand senior energy adviser David Skiles said.
