The three major indexes were all down, with the NASDAQ down 2.44%. The S&P 500 was down 1.32% closing at 907.39, while the Dow Jones fell 1.20% to close at 8409.85. The 10-year treasury closed with a yield of 3.330% as prices fell. Prices on June future contracts of gold were up, settling at $915.50, while crude oil prices were unchanged, settling at $56.71. General Motors (GM: 1.60, -0.06 (-3.61%)) reported a loss of $6 billion, or $9.78 per share, widening the loss from the quarter the year prior of $3.3 billion, or $5.80 per share. The 2nd of April, typically a let down day for pranksters has markets rising like the Sun in the East. North American markets had spent March on an absolute tear, had the Madness from the NCAAs spread to the trading floors or was there finally something to be optimistic about? Entergy CEO eyes spinoff options

Nov. 4--BRATTLEBORO -- If Vermont refuses to allow Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant to spin off into a wholly independent company called Enexus, Entergy just might have a back-up plan.
According to the Dow Jones Newswire, Entergy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer J. Wayne Leonard said a possible alternative could be to spin off its utility businesses into Enexus and keep its merchant plants under the Entergy umbrella.
Entergy announced two years ago that it wanted to spin off five of its nuclear reactors -- Vermont Yankee, Indian Point and FitzPatrick in New York, Palisades in Michigan and Pilgrim in Massachusetts -- into Enexus.
