U.S. Factory Orders To Dominate USD Trading

The USD is likely to move on the U.S. Factory Orders publication today at 15:00 GMT. The reason why this release is so important is due to Monday's releases that showed the U.S. economy is on a rapid road to recovery. Therefore, a similar result today could lead to very high volatility in the forex market, and a possible mass sell-off of the Dollar. In order to make some decent profits today, you should open large positions in the EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY pairs now.[More...]

EUR/USD rallied on the Forex market today after a series of macroeconomic reports were released in the United States. Both housing and manufacturing sectors showed some better-than-expected results and helped the euro to grow up against the U.S. dollar. Stock markets reacted with a more than 1% growth. EUR/USD is currently trading near 1.4836 after reaching as low as 1.4702 earlier today.[More...]

Dollar To Be At The Forefront Of Forex Trading Today

The Dollar is set to be at the forefront of forex trading today. This is after The USD fell against its major counterparts on Thursday, after a string of gains in recent trading sessions. Yesterday's behavior was the results of the confirmation that the U.S. economy returned to growth in the 3rd quarter, boosting investor optimism, leading to the equity market to rally, and curbing the need for the greenback's relative safety.[More...]

Monday Morning Musings

Good monday morning. Nice start to the week, and the month, even though its still very early. Stocks surged in the last hour of trading on Friday, and that buying pressure has continued from the open this morning. There was a batch of better than expected economic news that helped things this morning. The ISM Manufacturing Index came in at 42.8, and has now improved for the last 3 consecutive months. Construction spending for April also surprised, coming in at +0.8% vs. expectations of a -1.5% decline. And personal incomes increased +0.5% in April, better than the -0.2% expected decrease. The positive tone in the market has pushed the S&P 500 to its highest level since January 6th.[More...]

Jul. 8--The risk of lasting home price declines has increased in Dallas-Fort Worth as foreclosures and job losses mount in North Texas, a new report says.

But there's a "minimal" chance that D-FW home prices will be lower in two years than they are today, according to the latest study by mortgage insurance firm PMI Group.

Dallas and Fort Worth rank among the U.S. cities that are the least likely to see a drop in home prices in PMI Group's first-quarter risk report released Tuesday.

PMI Mortgage Insurance Co., , today released its Second Quarter 2009 Economic and Real Estate Trends Report, and its widely cited U.S. Market Risk Index. The quarterly report projects the likelihood that the nation's housing prices will be lower in two years. As many as 324 - approximately 85% - of the nation's 381 MSAs are now facing increased risk of lower home prices in 2011. Florida, California, Nevada and Arizona continue to have the highest risk scores - 36 of the most risky MSAs are located in these four states - but an increased risk of lower future prices is now spreading across all regions of the nation, due to the significant increases in unemployment and foreclosure rates.[More...]
