Garmin, Ltd. (GRMN) is an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) of GPS-based equipment. June quarter results were short of the consensus on both the top and bottom lines. All segments were up double-digits in 2007, and are expected to be up again in 2008. Pricing pressures continue to intensify, however, negating some of the growth in units. Management is optimistic about material prices offsetting ASP pressures in 2008. We see increasing revenue and gradually decreasing profitability for the company. However, being a market leader, the company should fare better than most of the other smaller players. Consequently, we view the declining share price as an opportunity to accumulate shares. Oct. 16--Here is the text of the Securities Exchange Commission press release on charges in an insider trading scheme involving a billionair hedge fund manager and Intel Capital and McKinsey & Company executives from Los Altos and Saratoga.
Washington, D.C., Oct. 16, 2009 -- The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged billionaire Raj Rajaratnam and his New York-based hedge fund advisory firm Galleon Management LP with engaging in a massive insider trading scheme that generated more than $25 million in illicit gains.
The SEC's complaint, filed in federal court in Manhattan, alleges that Rajaratnam tapped into his network of friends and close business associates to obtain insider tips and confidential information about corporate earnings or takeover activity at several companies, including Google, Hilton and Sun Microsystems.

PeopleSupport, Inc. (Nasdaq:PSPT), a leading offshore business process outsourcing (BPO) provider, today announced financial results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2008. Revenues for the second quarter were $36.4 million, a 6% increase from $34.3 million in the second quarter of 2007. Income loss from operations for the second quarter was $0.7 million, as compared to income from operations of $0.5 million in the year-ago quarter. Net loss was $1.3 million, or a loss of $0.06 per diluted share based on 20.2 million diluted weighted average shares outstanding, compared to a net income of $3.9 million, or $0.16 per diluted share based on 24.0 million diluted weighted average shares outstanding in the same quarter last year.[More...]
