District may swap electricity providers

Nov. 21--With PPL Electric Utilities rate caps expiring in December, Hazleton Area school directors will decide next week whether to contract with a new electricity supplier to offset an anticipated 30 percent increase in the generation portion of electric bills.
Provident Energy, a consultant working with Hazleton Area and several other eastern Pennsylvania school districts, tabulated kilowatt hours used by the schools and solicited proposals from several firms that generate electricity, according to Hazleton Area Assistant Business Manager Robert Krizansky.
Consultants advised the districts to enter a joint purchasing agreement and award a two-year contract to Constellation New Energy, which would result in about a 10.5 percent combined increase in the generation and regulator fees, he said.

VANCOUVER, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Cantrell Capital Corp. ("Cantrell") has entered into an agreement dated September 2, 2009 with Peninsula Corp, a British Columbia company based in Vancouver, BC, Next Ventures Corp. of Bogota, Colombia, and Knotsville Capital S.A. of Zurich (collectively the "Vendors") for the acquisition (the "Acquisition") of all of the outstanding shares of Imore S.A. ("Imore"), a Panamanian company.
Imore has the right to acquire certain hydrocarbon exploration and production contracts in Colombia (the "EP Contracts") through an underlying agreement dated August 20, 2009, as amended, with Green Power Corporation S.A., ("Green Power") of Bogota, Colombia, the current holder of the EP Contracts.

Provident Completes Previously Announced Sale of Lloydminster Heavy Oil Assets

After application of cash proceeds from this sale, Provident will have approximately $285 million drawn against its revolving term credit facility.
Provident provides monthly cash distributions to its unitholders and trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbols PVE.UN and PVX, respectively.
