Within hours, their work went out over the Internet to their clients: network managers at Fortune 1000 companies who were waiting for the fruit of what the computer industry calls "Patch Tuesday."
CEO Mark Shavlik and Eric Schultze, the chief technology officer, are former employees of Microsoft, the world's largest software company and the founder of Patch Tuesday.

(NYSE:MFE) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ:SCUR) for $5.75 per common share in cash, representing an equity value for Secure Computing’s common stock of approximately $418 million in the aggregate. In addition, Secure Computing’s outstanding shares of preferred stock were redeemed for an aggregate of approximately $85 million in cash. SAN JOSE, CA -- -- 10/27/08 -- Secure Computing Corporation , a leading enterprise security company, today announced third quarter GAAP revenue of $63.0 million. This represents a 5% increase in revenue compared to $60.0 million in the same quarter last year. Third quarter non-GAAP revenue was $64.7 million. This represents a 1% decrease compared to the same quarter last year. On a GAAP basis, net income was $47.4 million for the quarter or $0.63 per fully diluted share. Secure Computing Announces Results of Messaging Security Survey

SAN JOSE, CA -- -- 10/21/08 -- Secure Computing Corporation , a leading enterprise gateway security company, today announced the results of a commissioned study conducted by IDC on behalf of Secure Computing. The study, which surveyed 100 IT professionals and security decision makers in North American companies with 500 or more employees, found that 72 percent of organizations had no solution for preventing data leaks over email and 89 percent of organizations lacked an effective anti-spam solution.
