Seattle Genetics Announces Exercise of Over-Allotment Option

Seattle Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGEN), announced today that the underwriters of its previously announced public offering of common stock have exercised in full their option to purchase an additional 1,650,000 shares of common stock.
Seattle Genetics anticipates using the proceeds from this offering to fund research and development efforts, including manufacturing activities and clinical trials for its proprietary product candidates, build-out of a commercial infrastructure and for general corporate purposes, including working capital.
J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are acting as joint book-running managers of the offering.

Seattle Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq:SGEN) announced today the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 11,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $10.75 per share. The gross proceeds from the sale of the shares, before underwriting discounts and commissions and other offering expenses, are expected to be approximately $118.2 million. The offering is expected to close on or about August 17, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions. The company has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an aggregate of 1,650,000 additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
