Sykes Says: Some Suppressive SEC Short Selling Scrap Stocks Suckas!

Not much for me to watch today considering spamers are all but out of business/effectiveness right now and the Sec just voted to extend the ban on short selling businesses run by incompetent people aka financials…I usually stay away from from financials anyway, but when there are absurd moves like TMA and BBX, my mouth waters and all I can do is spit right at Big Brother SEC himself. Here are today’s scraps: EFJI won real contracts, another IDEV-type play, I respect meaningful order wins, I don’t short unless the action is really ridiculous, which isn’t the case here…yet. RZ is the best looking out of all these mediocre/ugly plays, like the last girl at the bar right before closing time, I’m not giving in, she’s taken quite a few shorts home with her and they complained of burning and squeezing over the next few days…replace burning with squeezing and that’s what could happen here.

This was sent premarket to all TIMalert subscribers:Nothing truly great to start the week off, I’m still in the Florida Keys and I’m gonna go skydiving today…don’t worry, I’ve already been twice, it’s a piece of cake…IDEV got positive drug news and a hunk of money form a major pharmaceutical, I’m not gonna be so quick to short such a power packed deal, of course it could reverse, but I prefer shorting hype and manipulation to real deals like this. That said, if it goes up and squeezes some shorts enough, it’s a potential play.LSCG is a two-day spiker, chart is decent for a reversal but there is a shareholder meeting this Thursday so it’s not ideal (news could be announced).CYPB has the right longterm downtrending chart, spike off the bottom, but a history of taking weeks to reverse after[More...]

GBRC is going straight up, no resistance for a while, let’ hope it keeps going to give us some worthy downside QCOR is still on watch for a breakout, soooo many damn sellers everywhere though, it looks tough but not impossible.
Today’s tickers: C, FRE, HOT, XLB, SIL, XME, MFE, INTCC – Citigroup shares set not just a fresh 52-week low today – but a multiyear low – with a precipitous 6.7% decline to $21.52.
Apex Silver Announces Agreement With Certain Convertible Note Holders

DENVER, CO -- -- 01/12/09 -- Apex Silver Mines Limited, today announced that it has reached agreement with holders of approximately 43% of the Company's $290 million convertible subordinated notes on the principle terms of a plan of reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. As contemplated by the proposed plan of reorganization, if the class of convertible subordinated note holders accepts the plan, senior creditors under the Company's guarantees of the San Cristóbal mine's project financing facility will waive and release their senior claims and holders of convertible subordinated notes will receive a pro rata share of approximately $45 million in cash plus common stock of the reorganized Company. However, if the class of convertible subordinated note holders rejects the proposed plan, the class would receive an allocation of cash only after payment in full of the senior creditors. In such circumstances, the convertible subordinated note holders would receive common stock of the reorganized Company, but might not receive any cash distributions. The consummation of the proposed plan of reorganization is subject to the satisfaction of numerous conditions, including approval by the bankruptcy court of a disclosure statement relating to the proposed plan and the closing of the previously announced sale of the Company's interest in the San Cristóbal mine and related assets to Sumitomo Corporation. The Company expects to commence the Chapter 11 filing this week, possibly as early as Monday, January 12.[More...]
