Toyota Announces Second Quarter Financial Results
TMC announced financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2008. On a consolidated basis, net revenues for the first half of the fiscal year totaled 12.19 trillion yen, a decrease of 6.3 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year.  Operating income decreased 54.2 percent to 582.0 billion yen, while income before income taxes, minority interest and equity in earnings of affiliated companies was 636.4 billion yen.  Net income decreased by 47.6 percent to 493.4 billion yen. Operating income decreased by 690.1 billion yen.  Negative factors for the decline include 300.0 billion yen due to the appreciation of the Japanese yen against the U.S. dollar, 90.0 billion yen due to effects of marketing activities and 40.0 billion yen from cost reduction efforts. Consolidated vehicle sales for this period totaled 4.25 million, a decrease of 51 thousand vehicles compared to the same period last fiscal year. TMC also announced an interim cash dividend of 65 yen per share for the first half of the fiscal year, the same as the first half last fiscal year.

Toyota Announces Investment Amount for 2nd Indian Plant
TMC announced today that it has decided on a capital investment of approximately 68 billion yen for the second plant of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM), its automobile production base in India. The approximately 68 billion yen consists of approximately 35 billion yen initially decided on for buildings and basic equipment and an additional approximately 33 billion yen for general-purpose and specialized equipment necessary for manufacturing a new compact vehicle. TKM's second plant is scheduled to begin operation in 2010, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 passenger vehicles.

Toyota to Begin Leasing Advanced Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle
TMC announced today that on September 1 it will begin leasing its new fuel cell hybrid vehicle model, the "TOYOTA FCHV-adv*", to Japan's Ministry of the Environment. By leasing its fuel cell hybrid vehicles, TMC—which became the world's first automaker to commercialize a fuel cell vehicle when it began leasing the TOYOTA FCHV in Japan in December 2002—can obtain real-world feedback for further development, including efforts to improve the durability and reduce the cost of its proprietary high-performance polymer electrolyte fuel cell, the Toyota FC Stack.

Toyota Announces First Quarter Operating Results
TMC announced operating results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2008. On a consolidated basis, net revenues for the first quarter totaled 6.22 trillion yen, a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year.  Operating income decreased 38.9 percent to 412.5 billion yen, while income before income taxes, minority interest and equity in earnings of affiliated companies was 453.0 billion yen.  Net income decreased by 28.1 percent to 353.6 billion yen. Consolidated vehicle sales for the first quarter amounted to 2.19 million units, an increase of 24 thousand units compared with the same period last fiscal year.

Toyota to Acquire Land for New Plant in Brazil
TMC announces its decision to acquire land in the city of Sorocaba, in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, as the site for a new plant for Toyota do Brasil Ltda. (TDB), TMC's Brazil-based sales and manufacturing company. Concrete plans are being studied with a mind to opening a new compact vehicle plant in 2011 or after on the 3.7-million-square-meter plot.  The plant would have a starting annual production capacity of approximately 150,000 vehicles and create jobs for approximately 2,500 people.

Toyota Announces North American Manufacturing and R&D Executive Appointments
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced the following North American appointments today: -- Mr. Tetsuo Agata was appointed president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) and was promoted to senior managing director of TMC. Mr. Shigeki Terashi was appointed executive vice president of TEMA, president of Toyota Technical Center (TTC) and was promoted to managing officer of TMC. Mr. Agata, most recently executive vice president, R&D / Manufacturing Company, Toyota Motor Europe, replaces Mr. Seiichi Sudo. Mr. Sudo has been named president of Toyota Motor Kyushu, Inc. in Japan. Mr. Terashi, most recently chief executive engineer Toyota Development Center 1, in Japan, replaces Mr. Yasuhiko Ichihashi. Mr. Ichihashi will return to TMC where he will assume new responsibilities in global R&D activities as a senior managing director.

A.M. Best Affirms Rating of Toyota Motor Insurance Company
A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of “a-” of Toyota Motor Insurance Company (TMIC) (Cedar Rapids, IA). The outlook for both ratings is stable. The ratings reflect TMIC’s adequate capitalization and improved operating performance. TMIC’s parent, Toyota Motor Insurance Services, Inc., whose ultimate parent is Toyota Motor Corporation [NYSE: TM], has consistently provided financial support to TMIC in order for it to maintain its current rating level. TMIC plays a strategic role as a provider of vehicle service agreements (VSA) and guaranteed auto protection (GAP) plans to Toyota, Lexus and affiliated dealerships throughout the United States.

Toyota To Display Plug-In Prius at Congressional TVA Caucus Field Hearing in Nashville
Toyota will display aprototype plug-in Prius hybrid at Legislative Plaza on Monday, June 16, duringa field hearing on electric drive vehicles called for by the Congressional TVACaucus. The prototype Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) enhances the highfuel economy and ultra-low emissions of the popular Toyota Prius productionhybrid model with an expanded Nickel-Metal-Hydride battery pack that can becharged by plugging into a standard household electrical outlet. With moreelectric power in reserve, the vehicle is capable of operating inpure-electric mode for longer periods of time and at speeds up to 60 mph. By 2010, Toyota will have its next generation plug-in hybrid withLithium-Ion batteries being tested by commercial fleets in the U.S. andelsewhere. With over 1.5 million hybrid sales worldwide, Toyota is theestablished leader in hybrid technology.
